Windows 2000 pro will not load up

Windows 2000 on a Toshiba laptop. Unable to boot up. At
startup gives the windows 2000 logo, then is black for at
lease 20 secs or more, then gives an error final saying "
while Inialitizing device VKD windows protection error;
Windows needs to restart the computer. An internal stack
overflow has caused a session to halt. press any key.
After pressing any key it still would not do it. The power
key will not work either. Had to take battery out and
unplug computer. It wont even start up into safe mode,
gives same error. Did install about 4 days ago 4-in one
printer, copier, fax & scanner device but have started
fine working fine since that has been installed. Please
help.

Time to break out the emergency repair disk and repair things, or boot to
the repair console. I would start by removing any new installs. Worse case
you may need to use the recovery disks.
