windows 2000 pro upgrade from windows 98.

Now that I upgraded windows 98 to windows 2000 pro, I have
an option for DOS or windows 2000, before my pc boots.
When I choose DOS I get the windows 98 start up options,
like safe mode, chooseing any of the options does nothing
and the p/c just sits there. Why does DOS not load up?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Hello Faz,

When you upgraded to Windows 2000, DOS was removed from your system. The
only way to have both on the same machine is to install them onto separate
partitions in a dual boot configuration.

What you have at this point is entries in the boot.ini that no longer do
anything.

Hi,

My boot.ini has

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft
Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
C:\=MS-DOS

What is ok to delete?

Thank you for all the help,
Faz
