Windows 2000 License

Hello:

I have bought several workstations that are going to be in a Workgroup. Each
workstation has its own Windows XP professional License, but I need to
install Windows 2000 Professional. I have heard it is legal to use a Windows
license to install earlier versions of software. How can I install Windows
2000 Professional using my Windows XP license code? (I have both CDs, I am
asking about the license code)

Thank you for your time. Regards,

Windows 2000 CDROM comes with its own CD Key. So use it when you install Windows
2000.

Not all WinXP Pro licenses are downgradeable. Only OEM and the
Select/Open Volume licenses can be downgraded. Further the WinXP
license remains a _single_ license: you can use it for its original
WinXP installation, or you can use it, if it meets the other
requirements, Win2K Pro.

You would have to use a Win2K CD and Product Key that you already
have a legal license to use.
