Windows 2000 display issue

While my pc boots up I can see everthing normally on my
monitor right befor it's done bootting up I loose the
display. I have another pc running windows xp using the
same cables and monitor and it work fine. Does any know
what might be my problem?

It might be due to your display settings. To find out if
that's it try booting up in "safe mode". When you hit the
button to turn your system on, hold down the F8 key right
when the logo screen starts to go away. It should go
right to a list of startup options. Choose 'safe mode',
it >should< boot up and also let you know that you're
starting the system in safe mode. Once you're in windows,
go to "display" by rt clicking the desktop and choosing
properties.(which you're probably already familiar with)
and choose 640 by 480. Restart your system and let it
boot up normally and hopefully you will not lose your
display. If that works, you can change your display to
the proper setting once again. Hope that helps.
