Windows 2000 Broadcast ping

C

Cameron

The other day we started having trouble with our Windows
2000 Server sending out a broadcast ping on our network.
This is causing tremendous slowness on our network. I
posted a message and received a reply that said we had a
virus. We have done extensive checking and have not found
any viruses on our network at this time. Can anyone think
of what would be causing this problem? Thanks for your
help.

Hi Cameron,

If it isn't a virus, it is a 3rd party program installed on your server.
Try booting in "Safe Mode with Networking" and see if the pinging stops. If
so you know it is a program that doesn't load in safe mode and you should
try removing any 3rd party software.

Thanks,
