Windowa mail won't get emails from my POP email account!

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but after downloading my private emails then closing windows mail. On occasion when I re-open it later in the day it won't get my emails from my private POP email account, it shows it is sending and receiving but after nothing happening for a few minutes it then asks for my usename and password, but still then does nothing.

I have also noticed the same thing happens after putting the computer in a low power state over night.

Its very odd, because I use Outlook 2003 for my work email it doesn't have the same problem.

Any reasoning, help or advice would be great. Thanx.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular
resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
