Window positioning

Is it possible to get Windows to open new windows
(specifically Office apps) in a specific place every
time? For instance- If I am working with a Word or Excel
file, can I make a second file open in an offset
position, rather than in a same-size window that obscures
the first document window? The windows currently open in
the (default?) full-screen but non-maximized window.
This has become one of those peevish problems that I know
I should be able to do, but can't. It's eating my
brain!!! Help, please.

Your humble, but anonymous, servant.

Generally speaking, Office products (Windows products in
general) open in the same location and size that they were
closed from the previous time . . .

Based upon johnf message (above), close the program in
question by hitting the X in the top-right corner whilst
holding down the Control key and next time you start the
program it will come back in the same place and size as
when you closed it. Seems to work ;-)
