window off screen

(XP PRO, two monitors)
I have this one app:
maximized it fills the screen.
minimized it is minimized to the taskbar.
RESTORED it disappears.
RTclick its tab on the taskbar, choose MOVE or SIZE shows
no result. Moving the mouse left and up brings a
cross-arrow pointer from the bottom right corner of the
right hand (second) display. Nothing to grab though, and
clicking anywhere after that has no effect.
Is there a way to FORCE the restored window into center? at
some default size setting? Or am I facing Registry surgery?
