Win98 Can't Access the Win2K Pro boxes

P

Paul Fenton

We have a network of 8 machines, a mix of 98 and 2k Pro. The Server
is Win 2K Server. The 2k computers can see and access each other and
each of the 98 boxes. The 98 computers, however, cannot access any of
the 2k pro machines.

Any ideas as to where we should be looking?

Hi

Maybe this will help.

- Open Properties of Network Neighborhood
- Make sure that File and Print Sharing sharing is installed and shows up
in the list of services in the upper window. If not, add File & Print
Sharing.
- Make sure that the Workgroup name under the Identification Tab contains
the name of the domain.
- Make sure the 9.x machines are pointing to valid WINS addresses.

laso, make sure that the w2K server has a username and password that matches
the username and passwd in the 98 boxes.
