Win2k will not install

Here's what I am running...

Motherbord: Biostar M7TDB-ACAXX VER 1.2
Processor: Intel P4 1.8ghz
Memory: 128mg (generic stick)
Video: Chaintech MX440-8X
HD: Western Digital 40gig 5400rpm
Power supply: CompUSA 250w

I had the system running about a year ago, but it began to bog down and was
slow to re-boot.

I replaced the video card and hard drive with what is listed above.

I tried to install my OS and it gets to a point and fails. The video
dumps.. the system locks up, and you have to turn the power supply off to
re-boot.

I also tried to install XP Pro and the same problem occures. I contacted
the board manufacturer and got no help.

Any ideas of where I am going wrong?

As you haven't provided any details of the specific symptoms
and/or error messages you've experienced during the installations, we
can only guess that you have incompatible, defective, or sub-standard
hardware. A prime candidate would be the "generic" RAM. (Btw, 128 Mb
really isn't enough for decent performance, anyway.)
