Win2k SP4 Installs then uninstalls

I have installed SP4 on a box running W2k SP2. Upon completion of install, the Service Pack removal wizard launches and immediately uninstalls the service pack that was just installed. This happens even before the reboot. I checked for stuck patches/hotfixes as well as pending rename ops. disabled A/V
Anyone seen this? Suggestions?

I have not seen that particular problem but I don't like SP4 anyway
(some other folks have had problems with it, too) and I stick with SP3.

It would be interesting to see if you can install SP3 with no problems.

What is happening is that the install is not successful and it is rolling back to preserve you system.
