Win2K SP4 and Jaz 2G Drive malfunctioning

A

A. Banerjee

My Jaz 2G drive started to generate FAT32 errors eliciting
a chkdsk with every bootup. But with every chkdsk
everything hangs. When skipping chkdsk the computer boots
as usual and My Computer sees the Jaz drive but cannot
load or unload files from it.

This happened in late July. Prior to that it worked just
fine on Win 2K SP4. Can't pinpoint patch or hotfix which
may or may not have created the problem. I also updated
drivers from Iomega.

Any diagnosis or suggestions?

It might be a good idea (if you have't already) to take the Jazz drive to
another machine and see if it works when installed there, or if it exhibits
the same behavior. This will help ascertain whether or not you are actually
seeing a problem with the device drivers or the hardware itself.
