Win2k pc sharing internet with Mac using Airport?

Hey all,

I managed to establish a little network between my home win2k desktop pc and
my apple powerbook using an Airport Extreme base station.
I've got internet on my PC and I'd like to share this connection with my
powerbook.

Problem is, the modem doesn't use an ethernet port, but a serial port. (Its
a weird old cable modem.. quite slow)
My powerbook ofcourse has no serial port.

Is it even possible to share my Windows internet connection with the
powerbook through the airport??

Thanks a lot,

Tim

Well on the W2K system, you can use ICS to share out the connection to the
internet. Here is a link to the q-article that shows you how to do that. :)

Then on your Powerbook, just set the nic to DHCP (AutoAssigned). ICS will
auto config you nic on your XP system so you don't have to worry about that.
Then in Theory you will be able to access the net.

I hope that helps!

Thanks, but alas. I was out for the weekend, hence the late reply.
The Airport sends out dynamic DHCP adresses to all the linked pcs/macs.
I think ICS wants to do this as well?
I can stop the Airport from sending them out, but i have no clue on how to
make it recieve one of the addresses windows sends out. Is there a way to
make all the IPs static? I dont know how to assign my pc/powerbook/airport
an ip address myself..

Thanks again!
