Win2K & NT domain trust - need help

B

Blaine

Have DomainA(Win2k) and DomainB(NT)
I need to be able to create a trust between the two and have already added
the WINS address of DomainB into the the lmhost file on the DC of DomainA.
I then nbtstat -R ... nbtstat -c ...and nothing!

any ideas would be great,

Do you really mean domains or just that there are two computers?
It's not clear why you have two domains.
If there are only two computers then you probably don't need or want a
domain at all. Domains are for large installations with lots of computers.
They have features one might want but at the expense of greater complexity -
re: passwords, access, etc.

So, leave the Domain part of the network setup *blank* if that makes sense
for your situation.

thanks Frank for the info, I should have been more clear.

DomainA is the root forest(parent domain, Global Catalog Server
etc...),
DomainB is a NT domain and does not have a WINS server, it shares one
w/another
domain in the same organization (they are trusted, let's call it
DomainC)
DomainC WIN2K and is trusted w/ DomainA

Here is the kicker ~
DomainB is an NT domain, DomainA is WIN2K running in native mode.
I need to have the trust created between DomainA /(2K) and
DomainB /(NT)

I am looking at using the netsh command to "urge" the DomainA DC to
find the "shared" WINS server in DomainC.

TIA
