win2k and xp connect problem

bob

When I try to play an IP Multiplayer Game with a pal, we
type in our IP addresses, but when we click "SHOW GAMES"
We never show up on both of our screens. It used to work
fine, but it won't anymore. I am running XP Home and my
friend has windows 2000 if it helps. I also found a
message thread at
http://www.techimo.com/forum/t62320.html that describes
the same problem Does anyone have an
suggestions?

Hi Bob,

Make sure you're not being blocked by any firewalls.
Remember that routers and some broadband modems
have built-in firewalls which will block gaming ports.
