Win2000Pro lost access to my harddrive(Access Denied)

I was trying to network computer 3 computers 2 win98se
systems and a new Win2000Pro one on Linksys 4 port
DSL/Cable router. All 3 was connected to the Internet via
the Router both win98se machines was networked aka file
and print sharing had printer access to those 2.

I had just built and installed the Win2000Pro system added
it to the router and got access to the net.

Then I tried to get access to the other 2 local computers.
Now instead of doing this right after I built the Machine
since Networking them was not that big of need but I do
like to have access to all my computers(and since it was
new was just making sure it would run what I needed it
to). I loaded up some programs I wanted to use and checked
them out and basically did some things I needed to share
with other computers... so time to add it to Workgroup. I
managed to get the 2 win98 machines to see the harddrives
on the winPro but in the process of trying to figure out
how to see the drives and printer on the 2 win98 from the
WinPro Machine ...I LOST total access to the drive on the
WinPro Machine.

When I say total access I can still boot to Windows but it
will not even let 2000 access harddrive for page files. Of
course I also in the process denied the 2 win98 machines
access.

My problem is I have about 4 files I need to back up From
the win2000 machine

Now I have a second harddrive I was going to put into that
machine is there anyway just to get access to that
harddrive to get those files off it if I just put the
drive in another machine and even access it via DOS..or is
only way to get the use back out of that drive is to
format it and kiss the files good bye.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you install Windows 2000 to a different drive on the system, this will
allow you to access the hard drive. It sounds like you changed the NTFS
permissions on that drive. Are you able to log on the system currently?

If yes can you get the properites of the C:\ Drive and access the
permissions TAB?

Thank you,
