Win2000... upgrading boot disk

I currently boot off my C drive.. which is a 10 gig drive.
Win2000 is on my D drive.
How do I swap in a new drive for my C: and still get the system to boot...

I tried copying all the files from the old C drive to the new drive C.
Oh... and these are ntfs drives.

TIA

After you replace the drive and copy your files, boot from your Windows 2000 CD and run a Windows repair. This will create and fix
the necessary boot information on the new drive.

Actually.. I've tried this...
I did a FixBoot and a fixMBR...

I don't have an emergency disk (since I don't have a floppy disk in this
system).

Am I doin something wrong??

Oh.. and thanx for the reply.

Do a full repair by booting from the CD. Select to install Windows. When it tells you there is already a Windows would you like to
repair it?, answer yes. You will need to reapply service packs and windows updates when this completes. It should not disrupt your
existing configuration.

You shouldn't need a floppy drive unless you have a special disk controller that requires a boot-time driver during setup.
