Win2000 incompatible with my Rockwell 56000k56flexModem

My modem is plugged in and working fine, I can
connect,download, etc, fully functional from 2nd drive
using Windows Me. It is not listed in W2000 compatibility
document and W2000 will NOT recognize. I have unplugged
it and plugged it back in, etc.
Device manager list several other Rockwell modems but none
of the settings work. There is no response when it
queries the modem.

The drivers for the Rockwell56000bpsk56flex Modem are all
in the appropiate folder, windows/system/ ..., on the
W2000 drive.

The biggest problem is that I cannot update system with
service paks.

Do I need an alternate or new Modem??????
