By: Jack (search by author) In: microsoft.public.windowsxp.setup_deployment

After HD failure, new HD Win XP reinstalled and used backup from external HD

Drives are
A Floppy
C Local
D CD Read only
E Zip 250 should be DVD/CD R/
F Drive Image should be Zip 250 (ZIP disks open on this drive
G External H

The Zip drive actually is “Fâ€
DVD/CD R/W is actually “Eâ€

How do I renumber them to reflect what was and is there

How will the system recognize the correction and reflect the “new†actual

Any ideas welcome

1. you can use the disk management to change drive letters back to
original.
2. i find that the problem is caused by the iomega software for the zip
drive[ iomegaware and active disk] . use add/remove and delete both
programs. used device manage and uninstall zip . reboot and windows will
plug back the usb zip drive without the iomega software.
