In windows-XP when the "Taskbar-toolbars-quick launch"
option is disabled the taskbar simply disappeared. Taskbar
appeared only when this option is enabled.

(Right click on taskbar -toolbars-quick launch)

Boot in safe mode : no this kind of problem showing.
