Win XP - SP2: 'System' process memory size

Whats the typical size of the 'System' process (not 'system idle process') in
Task manager?

I've just looked in Task Manager (as you do, no real reason) and found
System to be using 63,384k of memory and 0 CPU. I seem to recall it being
much less than this previously.

The PCs been on for about 1.5 hours doing little more than email and a small
amount of surfing. Is this something to worry about, or is this normal?

All the usual AV checks all pass OK, nothing found. Just wondering, seemed
high to me?

What anti-virus are you using? Is it AVG 8?

Yes, just loaded it a few days ago. Its AVG 8.5-free. Had to change the AV
package as the previous one stopped being updated/supported.

Its just that in a Win-XP(SP2) book I have the Task manager screen shot
examples, show System as about 216k, not 63,384.

It something that users have picked up on. If you search the AVG Forum
"memory usage" you will see it has no significance.
