Win Xp - Slow logon to Windows 2003 Domain

I have a Windows 2003 Domain Controller running in Win2000 mixed mode. The
Win 2000 Pro pc's are fine but the XP machines have a major delay logging in.
The screen hangs at "Applying your personal settings". All machines receive
the same DNS information from the DHCP server. The DNS server address
assigned is the Win2003 Server.

I'd appreciate any input,
