win XP pro and Novell 4.11

Help!

we have a customer who uses Novell 4.11 sp9 with a Windows XP pro pc.

If we use the Microsoft client, the pc will allow us to see the tree,
context, and server.

However, if we try to use the Novell client (downloaded today - so its the
latest) it wont allow us to log in at all - doesn't seem to 'see' anything
of the server.

I'm stumped, my colleagues are stimped, and our customer is rapidly loosing
faith in out technical brilliance!

Has anyone got any useful ideas?

either respond here, or contact me at :

Your help is very much appreciated!

I would look at the protocols each client is using. It sounds like one
client is using IPX/SPX and the other is Using TCP/IP. Also the default
frame type for the IPX/SPX protocol under Novell 4.11 is 802.2. I am
thinking the issue is the newer Novell client default to TCP/IP and the
server is setup for IPX/SPX only. All of this is speculation base on what
you relayed. This should help you start the trouble shooting process
