Oh boy....here we go again. Jim, nothing personal, but this topic has been
beaten to death here in XP Gen. Story short, this is considered spam.

Jim we know you have a helpful site. But this post is
blatant spamming, almost as bad as playdoh (plato) boy.
What brought this on? Did you get a new site sponsor or
something and needed to increase the volume of hits on
your site?!? Geez!

Ask Kelly Ms. Lanwench, she can answer you!

OK - just read her reply. This doesn't strike me as anything more than
mildly annoying, I have to say. It doesn't offer pics of Br1tney Spears or
Os4ma's Suicide or anything - or even a chance to win a free humvee.

Spam is spam is spam and Mr. Eshelman has been doing this
for a long time just like Plato. They think the info on
their site(s) is helpful. They make it useless when they
over post it like this. People (including myself) put them
in the bozo bin because we are tired of having their
website spam links over and over and over and over and
over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and
over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over again just like I did above with the
words "and over". People may consider it spam when
kurttrail posts a link to his own site, others consider it
good info and helpful. Even Kelly here was able to
recognize what this original post really is. Can't you?

David Candy

An anonymous, cowardly, dobber's opinion is worthless. Jim knows I don't like his posts, that I consider it spam, and as he is no longer a regular poster here he's spam tolerance is extinguished. But he knows that I think that (and was a few months ago angry at me, maybe still is). But I (that is ME - David Candy) expressed my opinion.

However there are arguments for allowing this post. I don't agree with them but
1. Jim is an MVP NOW because of his web site.
2. MS does NOT consider it spam.

I didn't intend to join in this thread as I need a rest after Timmo. But I hold Jim in high respect (I merely disagree with this type of post, especially as he is no longer a regular contributer here). But anonymous dobbing shits me. I grew up with sisters. That all girls do is dob on you.

We the group are quite capable of handling this ourselves. There is no need to dob someone in, especially if it would have consequences as I have already pointed out it is not a FACT that this is spam, merely the opinion of some (including me).

If you want a strategy to deal with this
a/ Have the courage to use your real name.
b/ Everytime he posts tag on, change the subject to Spam Alert and delete the included text. Sooner or later it will develop into a thread where an indicative position on if it is wanted or not by the group will happen. Most people, excluding trolls, will pay attention to the groups opinion.

This in fact is what Kelly has done. And I would have too if I was ready for another battle. But note that Kelly is POLITE. We've all known each other for many years.

Oh no! It's David "I'm gonna make gun murder threats if
someone doesn't fix the problems with the MS newsgroup
servers now!" Candy! I just crapped my pants! OMG, I
better go run and hide now!
