WIN Media Player Version 9 Killed My Browser

I upgraded to version 9 of windows media player for Win
98SE. Program crashed before install was complete. Now
IE6 has ground to a halt. Takes over five minutes to load
one page with broadband digital connection at 750+k.
Mouse freezes on screen until page download is complete. I
have uninstalled version 9, then downloaded and
reinstalled it completely. No improvement. Even
unistalled and reinstalled IE6 to no avail. Any
suggestions on how to clean up this version 9 nightmare?

sounds like a conflict, did you try downloading and save,
then install when yer off line with nothing else running.
