Win ME / Installing IE 6.0

Help - the first time I tried to download IE 6.0 S1 I couldn't get it to
install past 70%.. .it said I had all the files, but install couldn't finish.
I am running ME & need to install new software that can't run on IE 5 or
less....

I had found an awesome discussion about it right on this website & it
worked & I saved it in my favorites folder -- Well my computer crashed this
week & I am having to re-install all of my software including the IE 6.0 &
can't find that helpful information that told me what to do on my computer so
that the IE 6.0 would finally install & work. (It has been moved or deleted)

It had something to do with renaming a folder or 2 & such... anyone help!!!
THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!

O

oops!!

Try this:

Go to My Computer - Tools - Folder Options - View:
- Select "Show hidden files and folders", click Apply - OK

Create a folder named "Old uninstall".

Go to folder C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Uninstall Information.

Now Edit - Select All - Cut all files.

Open "Old uninstall" folder and paste the files.

You will now be able to install all the troublesome components.

If everything works as expected, you can delete the "Old Uninstall" folder
and the files you moved.

Good luck,

Zee
