Win Management Instrumentation Sys.

My Windows Management Instrumentation System service
status is listed as "stopped". The startup type in
services is set to automatic. When I click on "start", I
get a window that says "could not start WMI on local
computer". Error 1068....The dependency service or group
failed to start.
My OS is Win XP Pro. 2.6mhz cpu, 1gb ram, 80gb HD.
Thank You for help. It is much appreciated.

I believe the Event Log and RPC (Remote Procedural Call)
services have to be started . . . check them, start as
required . . . they should be set to Automatic . . .

The Event Log and RPC services were started per your
instructions and that did it. WMI is now started.
