Win Installer?

Question, I started up the comp today, HP ZE5570 laptop Windows XP SP 2 and
had the following problems. The Norton Antivirus has encountered an internal
program error and it instructs me to Uninstall and Reinstall Symantec ( Error
Message 3029,19). I am unable to do this, says error occured, no other
explanation. So I was thinking, Symantec (Norton) problem.....however, the HP
Help Center isnt responding either...says the thing isnt running, but in the
msconfig the sys shows it running....any help or suggestions appreciated.

Also...tried using System Restore, which I had turned on months back, the
only highlighted date to restore from is today, when I had the problems
stated below. Once again, any help or suggestions is appreciated.

If it's a recent version of Symantec ----, then go to Add/Remove and click
your Symantec product to highlight. Then click "Change", it will startup the
installer where there should be an option called "Repair".

Boot in safe mode and try to reinstall the same.
