Win 2k CD-Rom inaccessible error

Hello, was hoping that someone else knows about this issue
I am having.

I just installed Win 2K and everything was going fine.
After installing about 10 programs from CD, Win 2K will no
longer recognize my CD-Rom drive. It gives me a 'D drive
not accesible' error. It will not recognize it, yet the
properties says that it is running fine. It does recognize
it in Safe Mode, but just not as Admin or any other user
level.

I have updated drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled more
time than I can count. Seems that something got corrupted,
but I have no idea what. Anyone seen this before? Any
help/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

So you do have service pack 4 and all the latest updates.
