Will Trust relationships be affected????

J

JY Doyon

We will soon be replacing our one and only Domain Controller. We have trust
relationships established between our domain and 3 other different domains.
I want to know what will happen to these trusts when we put the new DC onto
the network and then remove the old server. Will I have to rebuild these
trusts or will they stay active since the domain name will stay the same and
only the server name will change?

As long as you DCPromo the new DC into the domain first then run DCPromo on
the old DC to remove the DC role and transfer the FSMO roles to hte new DC
you should not have any problem with your trusts.
