Will not load complete email when opening

I don't know what kind of an update Outlook 2007 or Vista has done in the
last week.

Now, when I open my JobServe emails, with 4 to 11 job listings, they will
not open to show the full email until I click on the scroll bar. It is like
the email is on hold. The only thing I see, which opens and hogs my AMD
Phenom 9950 CPU (50%), is something called "searchprotocolhost" when opening
those emails.

All other emails appear to open normally.

What file indexing utility did you install? Microsoft Search, Google
Desktop, Copernic, something else?

This is a new install. I have not installed/loaded any search applications,
that I am aware of.

I wanted to be more familiar with Vista and its quirks before adding any
third-party applications.

That is the desktop search in vista. I'd make sure all office updates are installed and do a repair (help, office diagnostics).

What type of email account do you use?

I found out that Microsoft changed to a Desktop Search Application called
"Search Protocol Host" for indexing files on the system.

It is not listed in the Administrative Tools | Services like the Indexing in
XP is.

You have to put Control Panel into Classic View and select Indexing Options.
It is a pretty powerful little application.

However, even after removing Outlook from the Indexing the emails still
hesitate when loading.

I use a Pop3 email and the emails are all downloaded to my system. Even my
old Outlook 2000 doesn't do this hesitation. They open right up. So, it has
to be something in either Outlook 2007 or Vista.

Are you using a virus scanner that is integrated with email?

Yes. The same one I used with Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2003, called Avast;
with no problems.

By leaving Outlook 2007 in the, really backwards, search capability built
into Vista and just unchecking the Personal and Business Contact Manager
boxes I now can open the emails without the lock-up/excessive delay.

Thanks.
