will not hibernate

hi in the last few weeks my computer refuses to hibernate. it goes to sleep
fine but next time i look at it it's back up without me touching it. i tried
unplugging it from the internet, checked all my power settings which seem ok.
i've heard this happening to other people as well. any ideas? could it be a
virus? i do have norton 2004. it used to work fine for years and i did not
make changes. so ideas would be welcome..... thanx

I have a similar issue. My power options are not working. I just posted on 8-4.
Issue coincides with the downloading of Windows Genuine Advantage
Notification but doubt this is the problem. I will continnue to monitor both
of our posts as I am not a computer wiz.

hi again, i just read an article that incicates that it may have to do with
outdated drivers. it's in a link on the first response i received. it's kinda
technical.
