Will Microsoft Reader work in Word 2007

I recently installed Word 2007 and am trying to convert a document into .lit
format. It keeps saying Word has encountered an error and must shut down.
Is MS Reader not compatible with MS Word 2007?

Hi Candace,

Is this MS Office 2007 gold (released) version?

The 'Read in Microsoft Reader' add-in hasn't been updated since 2001 (one MS download page says it's okay for Word 2003, another
says the same version only works with Word 2000 and Word 2002 <g>) It didn't crash when I tried it, but it was unable to get past
some of the internal (CSS) file coding of the new version, even when those files were in Word 2003 .doc format.

There are 3rd party tools that will convert documents to .lit files and it seems that MS has sort of let that file format go more to
others as it works on its XPS and other document print & view ones.

You may want to use the link below to post in the MS Reader newsgroup to see if they're aware of any plans to update the add-in for
Word 2007 to be able to create .LIT files

Thank you, Mr. Buckland, for your response. This is the released version.
What other 3rd party programs are there that will convert besides
ReaderWorks? I will post to the reader group and see what kind of response I
get about an update and let ya'll know. Again, thanks.
