Will Microsoft EVER get download issues fixed??

It seems EVERY time I want to download a file from Microsoft I have
PROBLEMS. Whether it's Win update or separately downloading other files, at
home or work, this machine or that machine, ALWAYS issues. I have been
trying for 6 hours today to download SP2 for XP. Every few minutes the
connection is dropped and I have to start again. It is ridiculous and
unbelievable that a company like MS cannot get their act together and
provide a WORKING download service. Small files are always ok but anything
larger, forget it, ALWAYS problems, has been for years. And no, it's NOT my
connection as files download perfectly from any other company.

Hi RP,

Not sure why you are having any problems. I have never
had any problems with downloads from MS. I live in Japan
and have English OS, so I have to get my updates from the
U.S. MS servers. I have done 20 meg downloads in less
than 2 minutes. When I downloaded SP2 full install for
network distribution, it took only 10 minutes. Either you
are always connecting at MS`s busiest time or you need to
adjust your MTU settings. I did have a problem once
before, when using certian services with my MTU set at
1500, I couldn`t access windows update site at all, since
I have changed and kept my MTU at 1450, I haven`t had any
problems with any site, especially MS.

I have never had a single issue downloading anything from Microsoft, I don't
think their is anything to "fix" from Microsoft's end.

That's strange because I have never had a problem downloading or installing
an update from Microsoft on any machine I've ever owned. Just received SP2,
it downloaded and installed without a hitch.

Let's see, millions of people are downloading from MS without issue. YOU
have a problem. Perhaps you need to get a real technician to fix your
systems as it sounds like you have managed to misconfigure every one you
have touched.

I think it's YOUR computer that has a problem. So, YOU
should be the one that fixes YOUR problem. It is NOT
Microsoft's problem...it is YOUR problem.

I downloaded SP2 from Microsoft a few weeks ago, and had
no problem with the 266 MB download.

Get YOUR computer fixed.
