Short answer yes.

Long answer, yes but Premium is *really* worth the extra, Basic is very
Basic. Also make sure the laptop has the hardware, and the drivers to
support Windows Vista, and Halo 2.

Unfornately, you also need like for the Xbox Live a silver or gold
membership to have achievements etc ..

Over 70% of halo 2 players have problems on all editions.

I'm sure you have no source for such figures. But I have Halo 2 and have
had no problems with it, the only niggling thing that bugs me is sometimes
the guide is a bit laggy, and yes I have played it extensively.

Me either, there's one problem when you finish one of the missions the game
won't continue, you have to restart the game. Bit of a pain, but not really.

Why ya gotta be hatin Kronos? Just break down and go buy Vista and Halo 2
man.

A better thing would of been to say, "100% of all games on the PC have at
least 1 known bug when they ship." Which is true of any game, not just PC,
but console, board, pen & paper, tag, hide-n-go-seek, buck-buck, pin the
tail on the donkey, etc.

XBox live Silver membership is free, and the achievements are a hoot, get
outta the hate pool.

The question was will Halo run on Vista Basic. Answer, Yes.

Damn dude, I count like 20 messages of you saying, "Halo 2 is great and if
you can't play it buy a new computer." (paraphrasing)

Stop it, we get it, you like Halo, and everyone should go spend lots of
money to play a game that's 3 years old and IMO isn't that great of a
shooter.

HELLO PEOPLE! ORANGE BOX is coming out "soon", more FPS goodness than you
can shake a stick at, and unlike Halo 2 it'll probably be, A> Good, and B>
Compatible with Windows XP.

Sorry to jump on the "hate wagon", but H2 [sic] or any other game does not
always work for all systems, and throwing new hardware in your box isn't
always the way to fix the problem.
