Hi All,

I am using Dell Laptop M170 and having a problem with WiFi
connectivity. The card PN is: 2915ABG at:

The wireless connection works just fine and don't know why the WiFi
would not work? Any where I should do any setup? I use Windows XP SP3.

A feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

You'll need to be a little more specific than saying that the wireless
connection works but WiFi doesn't work.

Are you trying to connect to your own wireless router? What encryption
and/or other security measures have you set on your router? What is the
make and model of the router?

Are you trying to connect to a public WiFi hotspot? Do you get a login page?

What makes you think "the wireless connection works"?

What makes you think that WiFi doesn't work? What error message do you
get (please post it verbatim)?

Wireless = WiFi (or Wi-Fi)

It can't work and not work at the same time. When you have a problem, tell
us about your wireless setup (security etc), what you've done and the
result.

"doesn't work" is too general.

Hi Lem,

I was testing the WiFi in my neighborhood, which I see the Free Public WiFi
at the bottom list of the available wireless network. I tried to connect to
it but no connection was established. Otherwise connecting into a secured
wireless network works just fine. For the WiFi I did not get any login
screen.

I am using the NetGear Model number: WNR3500.

Thanks,

Eric

"Free Public WiFi" isn't. See
