wierd sounds through my speakers

i am getting a wierd sound through my speakers. its kind of a crackling
sound that gets louder whenever i move my mouse around. i have a via
onboard sound on a p4 motherboard. i have the latest sound drivers
installed from via and all windows update patches available. any help i
could get would be greatly appriciated.

Sorry you're having a problem. What brand of mouse is
it ? How does the mouse plug into the system - USB ?
PS/2 ? Serial ? Have you updated the mouse driver or have
you even loaded it ? Have seen this once or twice before
and it was resolved by changing to a different mouse, a
different interface (from PS/2 to USB) or by updating the
mouse driver. Good Luck !

I know this sounds weird, but try this:

If you have two memory sticks in your computer, remove one... reboot.
Do you still here the sounds?

If so, switch the memory chips and reboot again.
Still hear the sounds?

I have had these weird sounding scratches when using bad ram.
