Widescreen is changing powerpoint font's format.

I have purchased a Viewsonic VA1912wb monitor for use at the office. After
installing it I noticed that everytime I open a graph on powerpoint the font
becomes much larger and squished together. On the same computer when using a
normal monitor powerpoint makes no changes. I have updated the driver using
the online Microsoft driver update in device manager, but it has not helped.
What can I do to stop the widescreen monitor from changing my graphs on
powerpoint?

(On pre-Vista OS Computer) Go to START >> CONTROL PANEL >> DISPLAY >>
SETTINGS tab >> ADVANCED button >> depending on which video card, find
setting for MAINTAIN ASPECT RATIO. Now 4x3 presentations will display with
black bars on the left/right so nothing is distorted on a widescreen
monitor.

Unfortunately, I don't see a maintain aspect ratio as an option. If I play
with screen resolution and change it to 800X600 (4X3) I can make it so the
size of the font doesn't change, but then the rest of the slide is out of
proportion. It was designed on a normal monitor with 4x3 resolution. Will a
widescreen monitor just not work in an office full of normal monitors?

What graphics card do you have?

Go to START >> DISPLAYS >> SETTINGS tab >> ADVANCED button >> ADAPTOR tab.
It will either list an ATI model, Nvidia Model, or Intel model.
