I have an A7n8x-deluxe running XP Pro...question is..why are all my IRQ's
jammed up like it is Win98?...my other system on XP has IRQ's into the
20's...this one not past 15...APIC is enabled..am I missing something?

If APIC is enabled in the BIOS you might want to take a look in System
Properties>Hardware>Device Manager and click the plus sign next to Computer.
It should show ACPI Uniprocessor PC. That allows Windows to assign IRQs
above 15. If it shows Standard PC thats your problem.

You can try highlighting the Standard PC entry, if that's the problem, and
have Windows update it's driver. In my case, that wouldn't work, booting
from the Win XP CD and having it repair the installation wouldn't work
either. I had to format the hard drive and reinstall windows to sort things
out.

Or even "Advanced Confi... (ACPI)" will not do APIC.

I don't think it's going to be as simple as just changing the dirver as you
say... I'm under the impression that you need to follow up with a repair
install at the minimum. The Sound corruption threads on nForcersHQ describe
the process as it's one of the things that was tried quite a lot to improve
the issue.
