Why video black on LCD?

I inserted a .wmv file into a Powerpoint slide. While using LCD
projector, text, graphics, and inserted pictures are projected OK and
sound comes thru, but the area of slide with actual video is totally
black, even while I watch it on laptop's display.

What's going on?

Probably your laptop isnt powerful enough to support video on screen and on
LCD. Try viewing on the LCD only or maybe search for a video driver update.
