why is text so jagged in my documents? Is there an anti-aliasing?.

Hi, I used word for so long that I got used to it but recently I installed a
tryout word processor and the rendering of the letters is much smother and
sharper. Now, comparing word text to this new one I got it beats it to a
hundred percent. How can that be possible? Is there a anti-aliasing option in
word that I have not used? Is there is where can I get it to active it. I
have look everything on the internet about it and so far not answers.

Any help would be appreciated it. Oh! I am using Word 2003

Word 2007 uses Cleartype technology. You can apply Cleartype technology to
