Why is my outlook .pst file only 200kb?

Im trying to back up my outlook .pst file (I want all my contacts/e-mails/ect
saved). I am doing this simply by going to the root (local
settings/microsoft/outlook, something along those lines) and just copying it
as I want to put it on an external hard drive. The thing is that it's only
200kb and I have a friend who has one that is 35,000kb. I have MUCH more
contacts and e-mails than him so something seems wrong. Also when I try to
load my copied .pst into someone elses outlook nothing happens.

Verify that you are backing up the correct pst/file.
