Why doesn't Send/Receive occur automatically?

I just loaded Office 2003 and Outlook and imported my old Outlook 2000 data
(email, calendar, etc...) For some reason the new Outlook won't
automatically send/receive my email. I have to manually (press F9) to make
the email send/receive. I've checked the "send/receive" settings and they
are set to "schedule an automatic send/receive" every 2 mins. Yet its not
happening. The only way mail gets to me is by hitting the F9 key. I've
deleted and re-added the email account. ????? I'm baffled.

Two minutes is far too short for a polling interval. Try changing it to 10
minutes and see if it works correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried 10mins but that did not fix the problem.
(I've used 2 mins with my old Outlook 2000 and it worked fine.) I also
uninstalled and re-installed Outlook 2003 but unfortunately the problem
persists, email still does not send or receive unless I manually press F9
(send/receive).
