why does window come up minimized?

When I click on browser windows, whether from a hyperlink on a page, or from
a minimized window in my taskbar, the window comes up minimized and I have
to go for the expand to full size button in the upper right?

I can't remember what is causing that?

Hi Greg,

Try expanding the window by dragging it with the mouse, instead of using the
"maximize" button, then close it. This size should be "remembered.

What is the mechanism by which that info is remembered? Registry setting?
