Why does Vista have so many errors?

G

Guest

I am running Vista Beta 2. I have more errors than I could possible count,
and I am not even exagrating!

1) Explorer 7 can't run unless I open it as an Administrator
(I have to do this manually each time)
2) Changing File Folder names
(Each time I try to change a name of a folder the computer reboots)
3) Keyboard issues
(The keyboard won't work unless I restore to any random day and I haven't
added any new hardware/software AT ALL!)
4) User Account/Profile
(I am an adminstrator on my computer - but it won't let me do anything
b/c
it says that I need administrator credentials)

Those are just a few of the really annoying daily issues I have - I wish I
had never installed this on my computer. Do not use VISTA. Not only is it a
weak product - Microsoft doesn't care if you are having problems with it -
(but also) - they said when a retial version of the software came available
that I would get a revised copy of it.

Did I get it? NO. Thanks Microsoft!
Spend less time on copying the look of MAC O/S and making Vista look pretty,
and try making a bug free product.

Any tips on how I can uninstall this and try putting MAC software on my
machine? I think that would be easier than getting a hold of tech people at
"Microsoft"

PMS day???
I am running Beta RC2 build 5744 64bit and have none of the problems you
talk about.
I wasn't even promised a retail version............I just wanted to
test..test..test and test some more.
I think most of your problems are behind the keyboard.
Advice: wipe the system and reinstall XP

Hi Sabrina,

You sure sound upset. I sympathise with your desire to load Mac software, I
have a Mac upstairs (which I love) and a Dell downstairs running Vista
(which I am delighted with). Apple made a shrewd business decision to not
license their OS out, this means you can only run OS X on apple hardware,
which means that it is a billion time easier for Apple to ensure everything
works reliably because they do not need to allow for every permutation of
other vendors software and hardware that is out there. I am not defending
either Microsoft or Apple but it the problems you are having may not be the
fault of the software. What hardware are you running ?

Kind Regards,

Wayne

With the final, released version of Vista, all beta versions are obsolete
and should be replaced with the final version which you may purchase
at your favorite store that sells genuine Microsoft Windows Vista.

It is Beta software. Such software is almost certain to have bugs. Lots
and lots of bugs are likely.

Yes, with the final version your bugs will be of higher quality.

Genuine vista bugs... millions of them!

The released version of Vista is actually the first real public beta
and follows the long established practice of Microsfot expecting it's
customers to serve as unpaid beta testers to find the errors the
so-called beta testers didn't.

<sorry to be too truthful, but that IS the truth and you know it>

You obviously have a bad install of a beta Vista. And for you to state
that you would like to..."try putting MAC software on my machine"
testifies to the fact that you have no idea of what you are doing. You
didn't state which OS you were running before the beta Vista fiasco but
I recommend you return to same.

Well the best way to remove it is to douse yourself and computer in petrol
and light a match

Hey "Will" and "Frank" thanks fpr the useful
help. Clearly you are polite, educated people
and I only hope that your plastic dolls keep
you warm at night when you cry yourselves
to sleep.

I was joking about installing MAC software
on my PC. If you couldn't understand that
perhaps obtaining your GED may be necessary.

To those that tried to help me thanks. For those
that didn't - don't bother replying.

Are you telling us that you think there's come chance in hades of
successfully installing software designed for Mac on a Windows
OS?

Well, no. The OP did say she wanted to remove Vista, and I assumed the
MAC software would indeed be MAC OSX, or whatever the version is now.

Of course, there also is a version of the MAC OS (Tiger ?) that will run
on x86 machines, which had shown up in the binary groups hacked to
support generic (not Apple) x86 machines, with Intel and AMD processors.

So the MAC comment seemed no way out of place.

I'm currently running that hacked OS X, lets just say, I don't consider it
usable or stable.

Get serious! Running an RTM version Of Vista has to be a whole lot
easier than a hacked version of nay MAC OS.

I agree in every part of the post. The only thing i get is errors. I should
have bought a Mac. Macs are going to be so popular because they are cute and
have almost no errors. Microsoft should do something fast. Mac provides all
kind of programs really cheap, completely the opposite to microsoft.

How many years has Apple been trying to make inroads in the marketplace
with their overpriced Macs and failed? You are dreaming if u think that
the average computer user is going to switch to Macs when PC's remain
the better bargain for both price and software availability.

Maybe you should buy a MAC. That way we will have one more whiner in the
Mac group rather than the Vista group
