Why does my VPN stop working?

I have Windows Server 2003 set up as my VPN server using pptp. My
clients are both Windows XP Home and Pro. I have everything set up
and working fine but after awhile, some of the clients just stop
working. When I look in the remote access console, I can see that
they are connected but I can not ping them. If they disconnect the
VPN and reconnect, everything works fine again.

Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this? Would switching to
IP/Sec be more reliable?

TIA

Here you go. I just went through and adjusted all the MTU's on one
remote network but I still have the same problem.

I should also mention that the VPN is set up to access our web based
accounting system. The accounting server is 192.168.10.23/acct.
Users access the system via ip address to avoid any issues with DNS.
At least for this first go round. I was trying to minimize any
potential problems.
