It says Codec: dvsd Name DVC/DV Video and the status says Codec(s)
are installed. I downloaded the Panasonic codec in your article.
However, Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility says there are no
MPEG-2 decoders on my system. I used the Panasonic codec to save a
second .avi file in VirtualDubMod.
There is no volume on my avi file - I am assuming I need to find an
audio codec as well?
I really appreciate your assistance! I am amazed at how bloody
complicated and confusing this whole process is. All I want to do is
combine video clips of my daughters into a movie on WMM. It should
not be this difficult.
==================================
An MPEG-2 Decoder is what allows your
system to *Play* a DVD. That wouldn't help
in the current situation. If you do wish to play
DVDs...the following freebie may be worth a try:
VLC media player
http://www.videolan.org/
I would still suggest that personally...I would
download and install the K-Lite Mega Codec
Pack.
Yes...video editing is complicated. Proceed
at your own risk.
