Why do some e-mails disappear forever from my inbox a second afte.

We have recently begun using Outlook, and have noticed that certain e-mails
are arriving, showing up in the inbox for just a second, and then
disappearing. We cannot find them, and they do not appear to be going to an
archive, junk mail, delete, or other folder. There are no filters set up.
What's going on, and can I retrieve the missing e-mails somehow?

We are having the same problem and have gone through all of the same things
you have. We have found the missing emails in the delete folder. I have it
happening to multiple users, but not all the users. On both terminals and
PC's. If iget an answer I will respond back and if you get one please respond
back to my posting. We have the local Microsoft Vendor in the Tampa Bay area
stumped.

Dottie,

first I would look under your "tools" and "rules and alerts" and see if
there are any rules in there that could be causing this to happen. Second, I
would check for virus'. My sister had this same problem and it was indeed
because she was infected with a nasty bug.

We have checked the virus protection, rules, and the junk and adult filters
list. This has the local Microsoft vendors stumped also and judging from the
amount of emails with this issue it appears there may be more to it.

Possibly you're hiding it with a view or you've sorted you inbox on a field
other than "Received".
