Why do Internet sites open minimized?

Hi all. I might be in the wrong place, but there are lots of folks
here who know their way around and I have a simple -- but maddening --
problem.

I don't know what I did today, but somehow now my Web pages open
minimized. It's as if there isn't enough memory, but there should be
plenty (1 gig of ram), and nothing has any problem running maximized
when I click the button.

Just to be sure, I deleted all of the temporary files and cookies, but
that didn't do the trick. In most cases, when I open a site from the
desktop, it just fills the left two-thirds of the screen.

What tool options or other settings might do this? Sure appreciate
any thoughts.

In your Quick launch bar (bottom left) Right click on your IE icon and
select properties. near the bottom you will a dialogue box called Run, use
the scroll down and select Maximised

Ahah, I thought! But no, that didn't do it either. The odd thing is
that some pages (my home page at ptd.net, for instance) open just
fine. But most other Internet sites open narrower, filling just the
left two-thirds of the screen. As I say, this is driving me crazy.

Okay, I'm feeling stupid, but I'm also much relieved. After two days
of fuming over this and trying so many different tweaks that I finally
had to revert my hard drive just to get it back to somewhat civilized,
I have discovered the problem!!

I thought it had to be some simple setting, but the solution didn't
occur to me until just a bit ago -- there is a sizing arrow at the
lower right corner of each Internet page. Over the weekend, I had
visitors and one of them changed the page size.

No matter what I did, the computer kept remembering the new size.
When I sized the page to fill the screen, it remembered that as well.
So now everything is fixed!

Just thought I'd mention it, in case anyone else ever has this
problem.
