Why can't I see queries in Access (Password Protected) with Word .

I have just upgraded to Office 2003 from 0ffice 97. I have various mail
merge docs that need to access info from my database. The database is
password protected. When I open the data base as a data source, only the
tables appear, now queries.
I first discovered this in the converted database. I have since checked and
it no longer works on the 97 version of the database which I have backed up.
I have created a new database that is not protected and I can see queries
there.

You might want to ask this question in a Word group.

It may be that the difference is in the connection method: Word
2003 gives you a choice of the Office 2000 method (OLEDB),
the Office 97 method (ODBC), and the Office 6 method (DDE).
